This is not the original music video for this song, but I like it better. This version makes me miss Hawaii a lot. One of my favorite things to do was just drive from my mom's house up to the North Shore and then follow the road east along the coast of the island. I miss the smell of the salty air and the powerful sounds of the ocean. I was hoping to go visit my mom early summer of next year, but with everything going on with Covid-19 I am not sure if it will be possible. Next year will make six years since I left Hawaii to move to Las Vegas, and I have yet to return to my second home (Japan being number one.) I remember hating it when I first arrived as a teenager, but now I wish it was not so expensive to live there! Last year, I went to Monterey, California so I could be close to the ocean again (and to drop my son back off at home), but it was not the same. It was beautiful and lovely in Monterey, but I miss the tropical island. I feel very fortunate that at one point in my life this was home, and that at least my oldest daughter was able to spend a lot of her childhood there to appreciate the beach life.
COVID-19 vaccines are being distributed. Maybe by next summer, travel restrictions will be relaxed so you can visit your second home :-)
ReplyDeleteI really like that song and I certainly love videos that include great cinematics! Funny enough, I was just thinking a few weeks ago about how I really want to visit Hawaii. Hopefully, sometime soon we can resume travel safely.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the beautiful photos. I was born here in Las Vegas but have been visiting my family in the Philippines since I was five. I know what it's like to miss the smell and sounds of the ocean. I can't wait until all these restrictions are lifted and I can travel again.

Wow Japan, I want to visit Japan, it is great that you have been able to grow up and live in these different areas. I also miss the smells in the air living next to water, honestly I miss the feeling of the air. Las Vegas air has no feeling at times, but I do like Las Vegas.

ReplyDeleteBack when I lived in Cali my family always went to the beach at least once a year, I'm looking forward to next time I'm able to go back.
ReplyDeleteThe pandemic has really disrupted so much. I was meant to spend about a month in Mexico this year and now I don't even think I'll be doing summer 2021.
