The Family Pets

A few years ago, I decided to refrain from posting pictures of my children online where their faces are visible. The major reason being the digital footprint it leaves behind, and of course, being unsure of the future repercussions it may have. So instead of my children, I decided to write and post about our family pets instead.
This is our cat, Luna. We got her after my in-laws took their dog with them to Oklahoma. We were heartbroken, and wanted a pet in our lives, but we weren't ready to get another dog. My daughter named her after we had a video chat - she was visiting my mom in Hawaii at the time and was so happy to hear/see that we had gotten a kitten. She definitely brought back joy to our hearts, and we are all smitten with her affectionate personality and playfulness.

Here is our silly pup, Arthas. He cracks me up with the way he lays down like this - it never gets old. He has a slightly stubborn streak that I did not expect from a Labrador, but he is still such a great dog. I am trying to teach my 1 year old how to be nice to the pets, but that will take a lot of time, and he is nothing but patient with her. (Probably because she likes to give him her food when she's done eating!) He loves joining us on our adventures - especially the river. He is not very good on a leash, but great without one ^_^;. I hope that we have many years ahead with our fur babies, and that my children learn the value of growing up with pets.

  1. The fur babies are cute :-)

Luna has beautiful spots. Arthas has interesting lay on the ground. The photo of them laying on each other is priceless!

I hope you and your family have many years with them ^_^

  2. Our pets are truly our best friends. They exemplify loyalty, trust, love, adventure, and affection. I, myself, have owned at least one dog throughout the entirety of my life. I currently own a Jack Russell Terrier who is in her elder years, and she is my best friend. I am glad to see that Luna and Arthas are best friends, and I love that photo of them two together.

  4. I love seeing cats and dogs playing and loving each other. It breaks the stereotype that they're enemies.

  7. Luna is absolutely beautiful! She looks like a Bengal cat! I've heard (thanks Cats101 lol) that they can be super athletic and playful. My cat Precious was a calico, probably an American short hair but I can't be sure. Arthas is quite the handsome pup too! I love labs, they're so chill and yet some can be super outdoorsy. I have an big old German Shepard who's still as high energy as he was as a puppy.

  10. Growing up with pets is amazing. Having a friend ready to comfort you 24/7 is something that should never be taken for granted. I grew up with my cat who lived to be 19 years old. She was my ultimate best friend growing up and was always there to comfort me in times of distress.
