What did I get myself into?

My third class finally started this week, and boy do I wish I listened to my gut when I thought I should drop the class and take my remedial English class instead. (My writing skills are not up to par.) Looking at the course syllabus and discussion topics, I do not feel like I am taking a speech class. Instead, it seems more like a "current politics" class. I am definitely not prepared for these topics or having conversations about them. I avoid them on social media for a reason.

Either way, this short 8 week class will decide how I enroll in classes next semester. I hope I can keep up with the fast pace of an 8 week course, but I must admit the syllabus looks daunting.

  1. Stay strong, you got this! I'm on the same boat- every-time I feel like I don't have enough time or I am very busy, I always add tons more to my plate. I was just appointed to a Board Position for my Human Resources student organization at UNLV, and I will be formally introducing the Chief Financial Officer for one of our local government entities this upcoming week who will be a guest speaker in my class. Every struggle is growth, and I am excited for these opportunities. Time management is key. :-)

  2. The syllabus for IS101-3022 is also daunting to many students who laid eyes on it yet many are succeeding and some are leading :-) Keep up the excellent work and lead the pack ^_^

  3. Well, so far it seems like you excelling in both LAW 101 and IS 101 so I know that you will also do well in this third class. You are a very hard worker and your time management skills are very good so I think you are gonna do great.

  5. Having a remote classroom setting has not provided us all the true opportunity to build a rapport, regardless your character says you are intelligent, hard working, and disciplined. With that said you will do well in all of your courses.

  6. I'm sure after a while the course work will seem less intimidating. Good luck with your 3rd class.

  8. It sucks when you get in over your head, I did that this semester too with an 8 week Econ 261 course. If I hadn't gotten COVID maybe I'd be okay with the material but jeez its a lot. Statistics is like a foreign language.
