Time surely flies!

Another whirlwind week has gone by. I took a four day weekend so that I could have plenty of time to prepare for my daughter's 16th birthday. Saturday was the usual class day madness. Sunday, my dad flew in from Hawaii after being stuck there since the pandemic started (how horrible, I know!) When I first woke up around 8:00 a.m., I had received a text from him saying his flight out of LAX had been delayed and he would not be in until after 9:00 a.m. I thought to myself, "That's great! I can ask Professor Wu if he would be able to do our 1x1 earlier." So I picked up my baby, and went downstairs to feed the pets and let Arthas out. When I got downstairs, I saw that Arthas still had some bowel issues and made a mess in the house. Since he had been having problems all week, I thought I would have to leave the mess to run to the store for more cleaner, but luckily I found an extra bottle of carpet cleaner in my bathroom. I woke up my oldest daughter and had her take care of the baby while I cleaned. So much for a great start to my morning! I did manage to get my 1x1 with Professor Wu done early, and after our meeting my dad said he was ready. After we dropped off my dad's things we went out for groceries and errands. The rest of the day was pretty uneventful. I'm really not sure what happened to Monday. As I sit here typing out this blog, I cannot recall what I did that day other than thinking it just felt hectic and busy.

Tuesday - the big day! My oldest "baby" is now sixteen! I drop her off at the hair salon around 10:00 a.m. for her first make-over experience. I get back home and play with my youngest, and we take a little nap. Around 1:00 p.m. I pick up the massive cake my daughter requested for her Sweet 16th. I get home and get started on her special request dinner: chicken parmesan. Right after the last batch of chicken is about to fried up, my daughter calls to let me know she's ready to be picked up. I get to the salon, and when I first glance at her I don't recognize her and jump back in shock. My daughter laughs at me, and then I cry inside when the stylist gives me the total. We go home, I finish up cooking then we eat, and have cake.

It is still hard to believe I have a 16 year old, and that in two quick years she will be considered an adult. It truly is a wonder to see the person she is growing up to be.

  8. I love your daughters hair! I went completely blue in 2019 and my hair is finally done growing it all out. I loved it in pictures but hated how damaged it was after all the bleach.
